Our Investment Process

At Batalla Family Office, our investment process is meticulously designed to ensure a thorough evaluation of potential opportunities. Here’s a detailed breakdown of our approach:

  1. Initial Contact and Submission: We invite startup founders to reach out directly; however, all submissions must adhere to our standardized entry process. Founders are required to submit a comprehensive pitch deck along with a video pitch. This initial documentation should clearly articulate your value proposition, market analysis, competitive landscape, and financial projections.

  2. Interview with Our Team: Successful candidates will advance to a 20-minute interview with a member of our Development or Product Team. This critical interaction allows us to probe deeper into your business model, operational strategies, and long-term vision. It’s a chance for you to demonstrate your capability to execute and scale effectively.

  3. G42 Test: Following a favorable interview, you will be invited to complete the “G42 Test.” This proprietary assessment measures your entrepreneurial aptitude, focusing on strategic thinking, adaptability, and innovative problem-solving skills. The test is designed to ensure alignment between our investment ethos and your entrepreneurial approach.

  1. Due Diligence Process: If you successfully navigate the G42 Test, our Due Diligence Department will initiate a comprehensive assessment. This process includes:

    • Team Composition and Collaboration: We only invest in startups that have at least two co-founders working together in person. We believe that face-to-face collaboration fosters creativity, communication, and a strong team dynamic, which are essential for navigating the challenges of startup growth. Additionally, the founding team must have been working together for a minimum of one year, demonstrating commitment and cohesion. At least one co-founder must possess strong software development skills, ensuring the technical viability of the product or service being developed.

    • Financial Analysis: We will scrutinize your financial statements, projections, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess fiscal health and scalability.

    • Market Viability Assessment: Evaluating market trends, customer segments, and growth potential to determine competitive positioning.

    • Technology Review: Analyzing the technological foundation of your product or service, including scalability, security, and intellectual property considerations.

Tokenization

At Batalla Family Office, we embrace a forward-thinking approach to investment through the lens of tokenization. Rather than engaging in traditional convertible notes, we require all startups to establish a digital token as part of their capital structure. This innovative framework provides several strategic advantages:

  • Enhanced Liquidity: Tokenization allows for fractional ownership and the ability to trade tokens on secondary markets, enhancing liquidity options that traditional equity investments typically lack. This can lead to a more dynamic investor exit strategy.

  • Programmable Assets: Our token structure enables the creation of smart contracts that automate key processes such as revenue sharing, governance participation, and compliance. This reduces administrative overhead and ensures seamless interactions between stakeholders.

  • Increased Transparency: Utilizing blockchain technology guarantees that all transactions are recorded in an immutable ledger, promoting trust and accountability among investors. This transparency extends to auditing processes, where real-time tracking of asset performance is facilitated.

Tokenization Standards for Investors:

  • Regulatory Compliance: All tokens must adhere to applicable local and international regulations, ensuring that the issuance process mitigates legal risks and protects investor interests. This includes conducting thorough KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) checks.

  • Utility within Ecosystem: Tokens should offer clear utility within the project’s ecosystem, providing access to services or products and creating demand that drives value appreciation. We encourage innovative token models that facilitate user engagement and loyalty.

  • Governance Mechanisms: We advocate for token structures that empower token holders with decision-making authority on critical business issues, ensuring that the interests of investors and management are aligned.
